Holiday Events Around the Jersey Shore

Stone Harbor: Tree Lighting

Join local dignitaries and community members for the Stone Harbor Tree Lighting on Tuesday, December 8, 2015. The event starts at Borough Hall at 4:45, where participants will meet to board the trolley. Hop on there, or join along the route. Then head back to Borough Hall for the 6 p.m. tree lighting, and stick around for cocoa and photos with Frosty at the Stone Harbor Firehouse. Visit for more information.

Avalon: Holiday Events

Vacationing in Avalon this holiday season? Get in the holiday spirit at Santa's Workshop Brunch at The Reeds at Shelter Haven on December 6 and December 13 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m.. The Reeds' own version of the North Pole invites familes for a day of fun that includes crafting and gift-making. The Reeds will have elves on hand to lend a hand. The $30/person ($20 for kids 12 and under) includes the gifts participants make during the workshop.

Longport: Tree/Menorah Lighting & Holiday Concert

Santa arrives in Longport at 6:30 p.m. on December 4 for our town's Annual Tree Lighting/Menorah Lighting. Enjoy refreshments, have your photo taken with Santa. Meet at the Gazeboon 33rd & Atlantic.

Join the Longport Historical Society for its Holiday Concert scheduled for December 6 at 7 p.m. at the Church of the Redeemer.

Ocean City, NJ Holiday Events

Head to Asbury Ave. at noon on Dec. 4 for the Ocean City Downtown Holiday Dash, which includes categories for adults and children. Registration starts at 4 p.m., the first race begins at 5:15 p.m. Registration fee is $25.

Take the kids for Photos with Santa on December 5, from noon till 3 p.m. at the Music Pier. Fee is $10.

Take in beautiful holiday decorations throughout Ocean City's neighborhoods and downtown with the Ocean City Historical Museum's Christmas Trolley Tour and Carol Sing on December 5. Fee is $20 for museum members, $25 for non-members. Call 609-399-1801 for more information.

Get in the holiday spirit with a family-oriented evening of entertainment as the Greater Ocean Cty Theatre Company presents Swingin Into the Holidays: 2015 Christmas Spectacular. Adult tickets are $18, kids 12 and under pay $15. The show is scheduled for Dec. 11 and 12 at 7:30 p.m. and Dec. 13 at 2 p.m. Call 609-399-6111 for more information.

Sea Isle City, NJ December Events

Enjoy Free Horse & Carriage Rides on Dec. 12 and 13 from noon to 3 p.m. Rides leave from City Hall, on 9th & Asbury Ave.

The Historical Museum on Central Ave. hosts a Christmas Open House on Dec. 5 from 11 a.m. till 2 p.m.

The Sea Isle City Fire Dept. invites children up to age 8 to visit with Santa at its Children's Christmas Party on Dec. 16 at 6:30 p.m.

VFW Post 1963, located on JFK Blvd., hosts Brunch With Santa on Dec. 20 at 11:30 a.m. Visit for information and registration forms for these and other events.

The Wildwoods

Visit North Wildwood on Dec. 4 for the Hereford Inlet Lighthouse Christmas Tree Lighting. This free event features music, refreshments and the opportunity to visit with Santa from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

The Downtown Wildwood Holiday Decorating Contest continues through Dec. 11, when prices are scheduled to be awarded following the Greater Wildwood Jaycees' Christmas Parade and Christmas tree lighting in the convention center. Earlier in the day, visit the Wildwoods Convention Center to browse crafts, take photos with Santa and enjoy free entertainment at the Family Holiday Celebration.

The Pinch the Grinch Boardwalk 5K Run is scheduled for Dec. 12 at 10 a.m. (registration starts at 9 a.m.) at the convention center. Registration is $30 per person. Runners who bring a new, unwrapped toy to donate get half off. A Holiday Bazaar follows.
